A small group of All Saints met online on Thursday 6 th March to pray for flourishing.
We worshipped with a song from the ‘Village Chapel’ – on Christ the Solid Rock I Stand:
We had a prayerful conversation about growth rooted in 1 Corinthians 3:6-9 and were thankful for All Saints’ story and people over the years.
The passage was about working together with God: planting, weeding and watering. We have the gift of being clothed by God in Christ’s righteousness and compassion for others, rather than having to do things in our own strength. Wages of transformation and life can flow from God through our work.
We are praying for All Saints to become a rich soil for all, including small groups – from Lions and Lambs to the elderly, from regular attendees to those who just dip their toe into our community. We prayed about putting down roots and bearing fruit through the power of the Holy Spirit and linking our church intercessions to a desire for the Holy Spirit to water us all.
There was a desire from the Chaplain to continue to care for others and to follow their stories following prayer ministry as this area of our church grows.
There is an exciting event coming up, an invitation to grow as a co-worker with Christ, and also an opportunity to receive personal prayer ministry, called Sanctuary Day: Roots and Shoots - on 26 th April.
(For those who follow Lectio 365 on Friday morning our prayer theme continued as there were prayers for rootedness and finding a home in Christ for those who wander).
I love how our some of our prayers for flourishing are being answered through the development of this blog! Looking forward to the next Prayer for Flourishing, on 8th April.
